Ivan D. Brown

Ivan Brown earned his Bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University in 1989. He then attended and graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law School with his Juris Doctor in 1992.

Ivan has been a Jackson County resident for over 25 years. He began his legal career as a Jackson County Assistant Prosecutor, holding the position of Division Chief of District Court. He then went into private practice at the law office of Thomas D. Wilson & Associates which became Wilson & Brown, PLLC in 1999 where he became a partner. The firm continues today having changed names throughout the years but continuing the same dedicated service.

Ivan specializes in the areas of criminal defense, juvenile law, family law, abuse and neglect cases and personal injury matters.

Brian T. Hilderley

Brian Hilderley earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Detroit. He then earned his Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law in 1999.

Brian is a native of Jackson, Michigan. He began his legal practice working in Jackson at the office of Robert Flack, representing clients in the Probate Court, both Circuit and District Courts for civil litigation, municipal and real estate matters and preparing personal estate planning. He was then employed by Collins, Einhorn, Farrell and Ulanoff in Southfield, Michigan, practicing in the area of toxic tort litigation. He then returned to Jackson to the law office of Parker & Adams, P.C. practicing in the areas of business/corporate law, real estate, civil litigation and estate planning, prior to starting his own practice. Brian joined the law office of Wilson & Brown, PLLC in 2006, and is now a founding member of Brown & Hilderley, PLLC.

Brian Hilderley continues to specialize in the areas of business/corporate law, real estate, civil litigation, probate and estate planning. He also represents clients in criminal matters, both in District and Circuit Court.

He serves as national counsel for several businesses and also provides services to a few local municipalities.

Christopher M. Hurlburt

Christopher Hurlburt graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 1994 receiving his Bachelor of Science. He then graduated on the Dean’s List from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1999 with his Juris Doctor.

Christopher is deeply rooted in the Jackson community, with members of several generations of his family being Jackson natives. He attended Jackson Area Catholic Schools, graduating from Lumen Christi High School in 1989. He was involved in Scouting in his youth, earning the highest rank of Eagle Scout in 1985. While attending Thomas M. Cooley Law School, he studied Constitutional Law and Civil Rights, and was legal intern at the Michigan Commission on Indian Affairs.

Mr. Hurlburt began his legal practice in Jackson in 2000. Since 2008, his expertise has been demonstrated in the mental health realm. The Probate Court has appointed Christopher to be the attorney for all of the mentally ill in Jackson County, and he also provides substantial legal information and directives through the many seminars he conducts on the Mental Health Code. 

Christopher Hurlburt also represents clients in the areas of abuse and neglect, family law and civil matters.
